Is Your Lighting Working for You?

A lot of homes are still running on the lighting they were built with. Here are a few signs it's time for an update:

  • Rooms that feel dark even with every light on

  • Lights that flicker, buzz or dim on their own

  • Bulbs that burn out faster than they should

  • Fixtures that run hot to the touch

  • Kitchen counters in your own shadow while you cook

  • A bedroom or living room with no ceiling light at all

  • Old fixtures that look dated next to a fresh remodel

  • High energy bills from older, inefficient lighting

If any of these sound familiar, we can help. Flickering, buzzing or hot fixtures can point to a wiring problem, so those are worth a call sooner rather than later.

Our Lighting Services

From a single fixture swap to a full lighting plan, we handle it all:

  • Recessed (can) lighting

  • Pendant lights over islands and tables

  • Chandeliers, including tall entryways and vaulted ceilings

  • Ceiling fan installation and replacement

  • Under-cabinet and accent lighting

  • Dimmer switches and lighting controls

  • LED upgrades and retrofits

  • Bathroom vanity lighting

  • Closet and pantry lighting

  • Garage and shop lighting

  • Outdoor, landscape and path lighting

  • Motion and security lighting

  • Smart lighting systems

  • Permanent roofline lighting

How Our Lighting Process Works

  1. Talk it through. Tell us the room, the look you want and anything that's bugging you about your current lighting. Not sure what you want? That's normal. We'll help you figure it out.

  2. Walk the space. We look at your ceilings, wiring and panel to see what's possible and what it'll take.

  3. Get a clear quote. You'll know the cost and the plan before any work starts. No surprises.

  4. Install it right. Our licensed electricians handle the wiring, fixtures and any permits the job needs. Boot covers on, mess contained.

  5. Test and clean up. We test every light and switch, show you how everything works and leave your home as tidy as we found it.

Recessed Lighting Installation

Recessed lights sit flush with your ceiling and give a room clean, even light without any fixtures hanging down. They're one of the most popular upgrades we install, especially in kitchens, living rooms and basements.

In most homes we can add recessed lights without tearing up your ceiling. We use remodel housings and fish wire through small openings, so the job is cleaner than most people expect.

Why homeowners love recessed lighting:

  • Clean, modern look that works with any style

  • Even light with fewer shadows

  • Makes low ceilings feel taller

  • Works great on dimmers

  • Energy-efficient LED options that last for years

  • Easy to pair with pendants or accent lighting

Kitchen, Pendant and Under-Cabinet Lighting

The kitchen is where lighting matters most. A good plan layers three kinds of light: overhead light for the whole room, task light where you prep and cook, and accent light that makes the space feel finished.

We install pendants over islands, under-cabinet lights so you're not working in your own shadow, and dimmers so you can go from bright and busy to soft and relaxed. If you're remodeling, bring us in early. It's much easier to plan lighting before the walls are closed up.

Outdoor and Landscape Lighting

The right outdoor lighting makes your home safer, more welcoming and more usable after dark. Colorado weather is tough on outdoor fixtures, so we install lighting that's rated to handle snow, sun and wind.

  • Path and walkway lighting

  • Landscape and tree uplighting

  • Patio and deck lighting

  • Motion-activated security lights

  • Driveway and garage lighting

  • Lighting on timers or smart controls

  • Permanent roofline lighting for holidays and every day

LED Upgrades and Energy Savings

LEDs use a fraction of the energy older bulbs do and can last for years. Swapping out dated fixtures for LED is one of the simplest ways to cut your energy bill and freshen up a room at the same time.

  • Lower energy use

  • Longer-lasting bulbs and fixtures

  • Less heat

  • Warm or cool light, your choice

  • Works with most dimmers

  • Pairs with smart controls

Lighting FAQs

Can you add recessed lights without tearing up my ceiling?

In most cases, yes. We use remodel housings and run wire through small openings, so there's very little patching.

How many recessed lights do I need?

It depends on the room size, ceiling height and how you use the space. We'll lay out a plan that gives even light without overdoing it.

Can I buy my own fixtures?

Absolutely. We're happy to install fixtures you've picked out, or we can help you choose.

Can you put a ceiling fan where there's only a light?

Usually. We swap in a fan-rated box so the fan is safely supported, and we can add a separate switch or remote.

Why do my lights flicker?

Sometimes it's just a loose bulb or a dimmer that doesn't match the bulb. Flickering across several rooms, or when big appliances turn on, can point to a wiring or panel issue. That's worth having us check.

Are LED bulbs worth it?

Yes, for most homes. They use far less energy and last much longer than older bulbs.

Do I need a permit for new lighting?

Some jobs do, especially new circuits or remodels. We'll let you know and handle the permit if it's needed.

Can you help me plan lighting for a remodel?

Yes. It's the best time to do it, since walls and ceilings are already open.

How long does a lighting install take?

A few fixtures usually take part of a day. Larger projects like a full recessed layout may take a day or two. We'll give you a timeline with your quote.

Lighting Installation Across Northern Colorado

We install lighting in homes throughout Loveland, Fort Collins, Berthoud, Johnstown, Estes Park, Nederland, Allenspark and the communities in between.
